How to build picture book with NTK & BookMaker
- If you do not have Newton Press, you can built Newton Book data with
NTK & BookMaker. And those are free of charge. But BookMaker supports
only Mono color picture data only(#1). So if you want
gray scale data, you must buy Newton Press 1.1.
- (#1)Macintosh BookMaker supports 'PICT' only, and Windows
one supports mono color 'BMP'.
Before you start
- You must get the following softwares.
- Newton Toolkit and Newton BookMaker for Mac and Windows
- (You can download this from Newton
Inc. web server.)
- Word Processer Software that Newton BookMaker supports format.
- MS Word file format
- MacWord file format
- RTF format
- Word Perfect file format and etc.
Building your Newton Book.
- Execute your word processer software. And type the Newton BookMaker
commands. If you want to know more detail, please read 'Newton BookMaker
User's Guilde' documents. (Sample is MS-Word 5.1a)
- If you want to use picture data only, you must know only 3 commands
- .title titlename
- Must required
- Newton Book Title
- If you are 'DropPicture' user, you must type in 'DropPict' in titlename.
- .isbn code
- Must required
- Add ISBN Code, unique identiffer consisting of 14 aplhanumeric characters
or fewer.
- .picture data
- Add and configure picture data.
- Exectute BookMaker and select source document file.
- Compile source document file, after that, compiler will output NTK
source (picure.doc.f)
- Build NTK project and compile NTK source.
